Wallet investigations

A score is not a case file.

Wallet screening and full wallet investigations for individuals and businesses. AML Bot screening provides a PDF risk report; a full investigation adds detailed findings on the wallet and associated wallets.

A screening score is a starting point. The work is in understanding what sits behind it, and being clear about what the evidence can and cannot show.

Wallet screening

£20 per wallet address, or 10 wallet screens for £100. Delivery: 1–3 hours. The AML Bot PDF report includes the following information, where available.

  • AML Bot risk score and risk categories
  • Blacklist status and sanctions screening
  • Wallet balance, total received and total sent
  • Transaction count and first and last balance changes
  • Token balances
  • Address and counterparty connections, named entities and transaction hops
  • AML Bot PDF risk report

Blockchain transaction analysis

Reviewing the transactions into and out of a wallet to understand where funds came from, where they went and how they moved.

Transaction tracing

Following funds across addresses and, where possible, identifying when they reach an exchange or other identifiable service.

Risk indicators and suspicious activity

Assessing patterns that may warrant further attention, and explaining why, in plain language.

Standard full wallet investigation

Fixed price: £100. Delivery: 12–24 hours. All the AML Bot screening information, plus a detailed report and findings on the wallet and associated wallets.

The report sets out what was reviewed, what was found and the limits of the findings.

Limits of blockchain analysis

Blockchain data is public, but interpreting it has limits. A report will say so plainly.

  • Screening scores are risk indicators, not conclusions
  • Blockchain analysis does not by itself establish criminal activity
  • Attribution of addresses to people or services can be incomplete or uncertain
  • An investigation does not guarantee recovery of stolen assets

What this is not

  • I do not hold client funds or private keys, and I will never ask for them.
  • I cannot recover stolen funds, and I will never promise to.
  • I do not refer clients to fund recovery services and I receive no referral fees from anyone.
  • If you have been defrauded, report it to Action Fraud and your local police force, and tell your bank or exchange immediately.
